No. The legacy binary .doc format is not supported. Open the file in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first — the conversion is lossless for the structure this tool reads.
What happens to images embedded in the Word document?
Text is extracted; embedded images are not carried into the Markdown output. Since Markdown references images by URL rather than embedding them, you will need to export and host them separately if the document depends on them.
Are tracked changes and comments included in the output?
No. The converter reads the document's current accepted state, so tracked changes and review comments are dropped. Accept or reject changes before converting if you need a specific revision.
